Ocean View is located on the Big Island of Hawaiʻi, near the southernmost point of the U.S. Some statistics about our community: the median household income is only $46,200, compared to $128,123 statewide. The employment rate is only 38.5%, compared with 60% nationally.
Ocean View is so much more than numbers, but we are looking for support from others to continue our mission.
Our Story
John and Mekhia live in Ocean View with their two dogs, 14 ducks, and collection of sports equipment under their house. They started KOA to create safe, accessible opportunities for families to play sports in their hometown.
KOA is built by community members who believe sports can strengthen confidence, connection, wellness, and belonging across generations.
